Registrations are now being accepted for the upcoming winter programming offered by the Burrillville Parks & Recreation Dept.:
Zumba Gold is now held each Wednesday (1 to 2 p.m.) at the Burrillville Community Center (Beckwith-Bruckshaw Lodge) at a cost of $3 per class. This is a low impact-great for beginners-Latin inspired dance fitness class. Contact Instructor Susan Sgambato at 568-5473 for registration information.
Yoga Nidra classes offered for ages 18 & older each Friday (7 to 8:30 p.m.) at the Burrillville Community Center (BeckwithBruckshaw Lodge) at a cost of $60 per 6week session or $15 drop-in fee. Contact instructor Michelle Blanding for further information at 573-4360.
Digital Photography 101 is for ages 16 & up to be held for a 4-week session each Monday beginning March 5 from (6:30 to 8 p.m.) at the Burrillville Middle SchoolRoom 116. The cost for the 4-week session is $50 per student. The class is designed to teach students how to capture images they see. You will learn how your camera works, how it thinks, and how to use that information to create photographs. Discussion will include suggested reading, accessories, software, composition and lighting. Play to Learn is a one hour class on Saturday mornings from (9:30 to 10:30 a.m.) held at the Burrillville Community Center (Beckwith-Bruckshaw Lodge). Your child, ages 3 months to 3 years can learn through play.
In this class we ask that any caregiver remain with their child throughout the class. Each month will follow a new theme where you and your child will participate in a structured greeting, story time, and music portion followed by a craft if your child chooses, before breaking off into some free play to encourage social interaction and bonding. Instructor Kristen Beatson is a certified early childhood educator with a background in teaching child development focusing on the ages of children three and younger. $5 drop in rate or $15 per month.
