Crave RI food event to kick off annual CVS Health Charity Classic

WOONSOCKET – The CVS Health Charity Classic Event Series, entering its 20th year, will kick off with the second annual Crave RI food festival on Thursday, June 21, and Friday, June 22, at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in downtown Providence.

The two-day food festival shines a spotlight on the unique and enticing culinary scene that Rhode Island has become known for. Crave RI will host more than 100 local restaurant­s, over 150 beer and wine profiles, and live demonstrat­ions from notable local chefs, including Jennifer Behm-Lazzarini, co-owner of Red Fin Crudo + Kitchen. The event brings together local businesses, members of the community and families from across the state to enjoy great food and drink in Downtown Providence.

Notable participan­ts returning to Crave RI this year include Matunuck Oyster Bar, Evelyn’s Drive-In, The Salted Slate, Red Fin Crudo + Kitchen, Narraganse­tt Beer, Sam Adams, Newport Storm and Newport Vineyards. New participan­ts to Crave RI this year include Tallulah’s Taqueria, Bayberry Beer Hall and Waffle.

Daily tickets to Crave RI are on sale now and can be purchased at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center box office for $23 each. The mission of the CVS Health Charity Classic is to give back to the community and provide assistance to charitable organizati­ons that focus on helping the community yearround all while working to reduce the impact of the event series on the environmen­t. All proceeds from Crave RI and the Charity Classic event series will support those charitable organizati­ons across Southern New England. The Charity Classic will be employing efforts to further the commitment to sustainabi­lity and a zero waste goal.
