Cumberland Lions Club scholarship applications
CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Lions Club has announced the opening of the application period for two scholarships: the Dee and Felix Lima Scholarship and a broader scholarship for graduating seniors.
The Dee and Felix Lima Scholarship, which has an award of $1,000, is given to a Cumberland resident studying the medical field (doctor, nurse, pharmacist, therapist, CNA, etc.). Applicants can be a graduating high school senior entering college or a student already enrolled in a related college program.
The more general scholarship is one for which any graduating senior from any area high school who is a resident of either Cumberland or Lincoln can apply. There will be one scholarship of $850 awarded for a resident from each of those two communities.
Applications for both scholarships are currently available at the Cumberland Lions website: e-clubhouse.org/sites/cumberlandri.
Those interested in applying for the general scholarship for graduating seniors can also find printed applications at guidance offices at the high schools in each town, other area private and parochial schools, and the public libraries in each town. The deadline for the application for both scholarships is April 24.
