CRANSTON — Errors contin- ue to plague the Woonsocket softball team, as Cranston West took advantage of four Villa Novan errors in the second inning to score five unearned runs against tough-luck starter Lundyn Forcier in a 6-2 Falcon victory Monday afternoon at the Brayton Avenue Softball Complex.

Woonsocket (3-3 Division I) has now dropped its last three games after cruising to wins in their first three games.

“We need to have some good, focused, hard-nosed practices right now,” Woonsocket coach Dan Belisle said. “We’re just a little too laid back right now. After that one bad inning, we played pretty well. You just can’t do that against a good team.”

Forcier did it all for the Novans, as the senior went 2-for-4 with a two-run single in the fifth inning to score Madison Thibaudeau (walk) and catcher Maddy Hereth (single). In the circle, Forcier allowed one earned run on five hits to go along with four strikeouts and four walks.

The Novans are scheduled to host Smithfield tomorrow afternoon at Cold Spring Park. Woonsocket 000 020 0–274 Cranston West 060 000 x–650 Lundyn Forcier and Maddy Hereth; Liv Feole and Emily Durigan.

LINCOLN — Taylor Kent had four hits, including a pair of doubles, while Sophia Babcock chipped in with two doubles and three RBIs to lead the Davies Tech softball team to an impressive 12-4 Division III victory over Tiverton Monday afternoon.

Davies Tech (2-1 Division III) starting pitcher Abi Choinere worked around two errors to allow just four runs on six hits against 10 strikeouts. The Patriots scored three runs in the third and built an eight-run lead after the fourth inning.

Mackenzie Kiley and the Tigers (2-1 Division III) responded with three runs in the fifth inning, but the Patriots scored four more runs in the fifth to take a nine-run lead. The Pats face Central Thursday afternoon.
