St. Teresa’s Seniors happenings

On May 3, St. Teresa’s Seniors will attend a Mass at 11 a.m. to honor deceased members, followed by a luncheon at Davenports Restaurant in East Providence.

Mass will be celebrated by pastor, Rev. David Thurber. Jeanne Fugere will present the reading, Kay Bart and Joyce Trottier will present the gifts of hosts and wine, and Dotti Conway and Carolyn Jackson will light a memorial candle. Penny Trottier and Nancy Messier will host the luncheon. Organist Al Papino will complement the service.

Future plans include a birthday party on May 17 for members 90-plus years young, being presented by Carolyn Jackson and Deb Seton; and celebratin­g the country at a Flag Day picnic on June 21 (members are requested to wear their red, while, and blue). The picnic will be catered by Mickey D on church grounds, weather permitting. St. Teresa’s Seniors’ meeting of April 19 resulted in nomination­s for the officers and board members for their 2018-19 year.

Elections will be held at June 7 meeting, followed by a strawberry festival being coordinate­d by refreshmen­t chairperso­ns Kay Bart and Peg Zwinklis. All members are requested to attend this most important meeting.

Anne Ricard will offer trips on May 30 for an afternoon cruise on the Providence River cruise, preceded by lunch, and a Lighthouse Cruise on June 27, planned through RIExperien­ce. Tickets are still available.

Any person 55 years of age are welcome to join at any meeting, held at 358 Newport Ave., Church Hall.
