St. Joseph Senior meeting April 24

Before the meeting everyone enjoyed dinner which consisted of half-baked chicken, salad, potatoes, and all the trimmings.

President Suzanne Grenier opened the meeting with a prayer for the sick, Rita Berube.

Door prize winners were Monique Noel, Andy Bilodeau, Gloria Belnap, Lucille Laferriere, and Denise Raiche.

Raffle ticket winners were Linda, Charpentie­r, Lynne McAllister, Rita Boisvert twice, and Jocelyn Ciffo.

Cheryn Devin, Beverly Mc Cutcheon, and Doris Hudson were welcomed to the group by the members. Any senior is welcome to join this senior group.

St. Joseph Senior Citizens Group will hold a ziti and meatball dinner Tuesday May 22, at noon in the Good Shepherd School auditorium, 1200 Mendon Road. Tickets are $10 per person.

Trips to Foxwood Casino are planned for Friday, May 25 and Friday, June 29. Trips to Mohegan Sun Casino leaving from St. Agatha’s church are scheduled for Friday, July 13 and Friday, September 14. For more informatio­n or reservatio­ns for the casino trips call Fran Roy 401-356-1493.

St. Joseph Senior Citizens 43rd anniversar­y dinner will be held May 20, at noon at the Village Haven Restaurant, 90 School St., North Smithfield. Family-style chicken and pot roast will be served. Tickets are $25 per member and $30 per non-member. It will be a fun day with many prizes.

The group’s next meeting is Tuesday May 8, 2018.
