City man pleads guilty to child pornography
WOONSOCKET – A city man pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court Friday to federal child pornography charges in a case involving explicit material of infants and toddlers, federal prosecutors say.
Jason D. Boudreau, 43, pleaded guilty to access with intent to view child pornography and possession of child pornography, appearing before U.S. District Judge John J. McConnell, Jr.
According to papers filed in court, in November 2015, as part of an ongoing investigation, members of the Rhode Island State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, Homeland Security Investigations and the Woonsocket Police Department executed a court authorized search of Boudreau’s residence, seizing digital media storage devices, including a cell phone.
A forensic examination of the devices revealed 750 images of child pornography.
The images depicted “nude prepubescent females, including infants and toddlers engaged in sexual acts
with adult males, bondage, and the graphic and lascivious exhibition of their genitals,” court documents say.
In 2012, Boudreau was convicted in state courts of second-degree child molestation and, two years later, possession of child pornography.
At the time of his sentencing for possession of child pornography in state courts, Boudreau was ordered to register as a sex offender.
Boudreau, who has been detained in federal custody since his arrest on Dec. 29, 2015, is scheduled to be
sentenced by Judge McConnell on Aug. 21,
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Denise M. Barton and Richard W. Rose. Yesterday’s guilty plea was announced in a joint statement by U.S. Attorney
Stephen G. Dambruch; State Police Superintendent Colonel Ann C. Assumpico; Homeland Security Investigations Special Agent in Charge Peter C. Fitzhugh; and Woonsocket Police Chief Thomas F. Oates III.
