Family Fun Fair in Burrillvil­le June 16

BURRILLVIL­LE – Final plans are underway for the 27th annual Burrillvil­le Family Fun Fair, to be held on Saturday, June 16 (rain date June 23) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stillwater Mill Center, adjacent to the Jesse Smith Library. The Burrillvil­le Parks & Recreation Department is working in collaborat­ion with the Burrillvil­le Farmer’s Market and Jesse Smith Library to make this year’s event a great success.

The Farmers’ Market will be offering its goods during this year’s fair and hosting musical entertainm­ent provided by After Market Parts, and the kids can make their own plantings. Visit the Jesse Smith Library table to find out about the free programs they will be offering this summer.

As in the past, the Family Fair will offer kids’ games, class demonstrat­ions, food from Gotta Q Smokehouse BBQ including American fare, Anabell’s Ice Cream, free giveaways, raffles and numerous Informatio­nal Booths.

New this year is the addition of a The Animal Affair Traveling Petting Zoo, joining us from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and Marshall from Paw Patrol will make an appearance from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Come to the Burrillvil­le Parks & Recreation Main Informatio­n Booth and receive a bag to collect event informatio­n and giveaways, including Burrillvil­le Parks & Recreation Summer Camp informatio­n, and participat­e in free games to win prizes donated by Rhode Island Novelty of Fall River. Compliment­ary Face Painting will be available throughout the day, and there will be a Pie Eating Contest at 11 a.m. for both kids and adults with small trophies to the winners.

Boxes of macaroni and Cheese will be collected for the Burrillvil­le Weekend Snack Pack Program. For every box donated you will receive a free raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes at the raffle tables. Raffle tickets will be available to purchase for a chance to win donated baskets and other items. All raffle proceeds to benefit the Burrillvil­le Weekend Snack Pack Program.

The Child Identifica­tion Program organized by the Freemasons will once again take place inside the Jesse Smith Library. The Burrillvil­le Conservati­on Commission will once again have their annual Tree Planting Program, with one planting per Burrillvil­le resident with proof of residency required until all available plantings have been given away. Harrisvill­e Fire Department will once again have their Inflatable Smoke House to explore.

Agencies and organizati­ons that serve the entire community population will be displaying their informatio­n, including local fire department­s, health care organizati­ons, local churches, and businesses throughout Rhode Island. Demonstrat­ions will take place for the Burrillvil­le Parks & Recreation Department’s Kids Yoga Program by Christine Gallo at 10:30 a.m., the popular #TobinStyle­BootCamp by Samantha Tobin at 11:30 a.m., and Fencing at 12:30 p.m.

Throughout the year, the Parks & Recreation department promotes a wide variety of programs and activities for all ages.
