LINCOLN – A Lincoln resident was honored in front of more than more than 600 community and business leaders, donors and grant recipients at the Rhode Island Foundation’s annual meeting.

Renée A.R. Evangelista received the Foundation’s Harold B. Soloveitzik Professional Leadership Award, which recognizes a member of the professional advisor community that has demonstrated an enduring commitment to philanthropy.

“I am humbled and honored to receive this award from the Rhode Island Foundation. It is a pleasure to work with the Rhode Island Foundation in supporting the institutions and initiatives that serve all Rhode Islanders and make our state a better place to live,” said Evangelista, a partner at Howland Evangelista Kohlenberg Burnett.

Evangelista is a former member of the Foundation’s Professional Advisory Council and a role model as a charitable planner. The Council is comprised of lawyers, accountants, and financial planners whose advice and expertise are critical to the future of philanthropy in Rhode Island.

“She is a great friend of and partner with the Rhode Island Foundation, but beyond that, she is a true leader in this community. She is smart, trusted, and compassionate, committed to her clients legal planning and to their values including philanthropy,” said Jim Sanzi, the Foundation’s senior vice president of development.

The Foundation also presented two other prestigious awards during the annual meeting. The Care Transformation Collaborative - Rhode Island (CTC-RI) received the Community Leadership Award, which recognizes an individual or nonprofit demonstrat- ing innovation, impact, commitment and leadership. The Providence nonprofit was honored for its unwavering commitment to improving the quality of care, the patient experience and the affordability of health care. “CTC is proud to have worked with over 750 primary care providers who care for over 650,000 Rhode Islanders. We look forward to continuing our mission in testing new and innovative models of care delivery that integrate social and behavioral health care in primary care settings to better meet the needs of Rhode Islanders,” said Debra Hurwitz, executive director of CTC-RI. Delta Dental of Rhode Island received the Carter Inspiring Partner Award, which recognizes donors who have demonstrated a thoughtful approach and commitment to philanthropy.
