St. Joseph Seniors, meeting of July 24

Everyone enjoyed their ham dinner before the meeting. President Suzanne Grenier then opened the meeting with a prayer for the sick (Barbara DeChristoforo, Leo Grenier and James Leblanc) and a prayer was said for Gene Arsenault, who now lives at the Villa St. Antoine, and for the deceased members.

Door prize winners were Fran Roy, Vickie Cadieux, Claire Phaneuf, Leo Robidoux and Connie Ethier. Raffle ticket winners were Roger Roy, Suzanne Grenier, Shirley Levitre, Dick Guillet and Lynne McAllister.

The group will hold an American Chop Suey dinner Aug. 28 at noon in the Good Shepherd School Auditorium, 1200 Mendon Rd. Tickets are $10 person.

Trips scheduled include: Wildwood N.J., Sept. 16-20, a great trip; also Turning Stone Resort Casino and Bingo Hall in Verona, N.Y., Nov. 5-7.

There will be a one-day trip to Vine and Wine Delight with a luncheon and Vermont wine tasting on Oct. 11. For more information on these trips call Sue Grenier (401-7664647) or Vickie Cadieux (401-767-3337).

Trips to Foxwoods Resort Casino are scheduled for Friday, July 27 and Aug. 31.

Trips to Mohegan Sun Casino, leaving from St. Agatha’s Church, are scheduled for Friday, Sept. 14, and Nov. 9. For more information on the casino trips call Fran Roy 401-3561493.

St. Joseph Senior Citizens Club received a thank-you card from Father Carl Fisette for a donation of $500 made to St. Joseph Church for the use of air conditioning.

The group’s next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 14.
