WOONSOCKET — Michael J. Liard, 66, of Woonsocket, passed away peacefully, with his wife by his side, on Aug. 22, 2018 at the Landmark Medical Center. He was the loving husband of 43 years to Dianne (Faford) Liard and they had been best friends since high school. He was born in Woonsocket, a son of Gloria (Grady) Liard and the late James Liard. Mike previously worked for the Steere House in Providence and previously worked for the former Mailloux’s Furniture in Woonsocket and the former United Restaurant Equipment Co. in North Smithfield. He was a member of the Cercle Laurier Club. He enjoyed camping throughout New England. Mike was a ‘jack of all trades’ and enjoyed helping people who needed him. Mike also brought many laughs and smiles to anyone who knew him. Besides his wife and mother he is survived by his brothers, Richard and Barbara; Robert and Liz; and John Liard; sisters, Gail Dubeau, Judith Trottier and Gary; Ruth Joyce and Randy; Patricia Ellis, Kathleen Liard and Marc and Tina Wulf and Ray. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers James and Mark Liard and sisters Joan Marois, Jane McCaffrey and Susan Guillet. Calling hours will be held Monday from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Keene-Brown Funeral Home, 445 Greenville Rd., North Smithfield. Funeral Services and burial will be held privately.
