Theresa M. Mayer
CUMBERLAND — Theresa M. Mayer, 91, passed away on Sunday in the St. Antoine Residence, North Smithfield surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of the late Donald W. Mayer.
Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Anna (Russell) Picard. She resided in Cumberland for the past 60 years, previously residing in Woonsocket.
She was a communicant of St. John Vianney Church, Cumberland.
She enjoyed doing arts and crafts in her spare time. She also adored her cats and playing the organ.
In her earlier years, she was employed as an assembler for the former U.S. Rubber Inc., Woonsocket.
She is survived by two daughters, Sheila A. Martin and her husband, Don, of Cumberland; and Beverly B. Therrien and her fiance, Joshua Silvia, of Lakeville, Mass.; two sons, Jeffrey Mayer and his wife, Mary; and Scott Mayer and his wife, Carol, all of Cumberland; one sister, Gertrude “Trudy” Bilodeau of Woonsocket; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the grandmother of the late Kaylee Therrien and sister of the late Henry, Robert, James, Gerald and Raymond Picard.
Family and friends are invited to Theresa’s Life Celebration to be held Thursday with Visiting Hours from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the J.J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on 11 a.m. in St. John Vianney Church, 3609 Diamond Hill Road, Cumberland, RI. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
