Daniels Farmstead September events

BLACKSTONE — Daniels Farmstead, located at 286 Mendon St., offers a weekly Farmer’s Market every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., through Oct. 7, as well as a variety of special events. The farmstead’s September events are as follows:

Sept. 16: Antique Tractor and Truck show. This has been one of Daniels Farmsteads popular events for eight years. If interested in participat­ing, call Gary Smith (774-573-0418).

Sept. 23: The Grey Whisker Pickers, a bluegrass/folk band, will perform for farmers market guests from noon until 2 p.m.

Sept. 30th: Singer/songwriter Rose Kerr will perform from noon until 2 p.m.

In addition to many vendors, Daniels Farmstead also offers historic tours. Guests can enjoy great stories from three centuries and 10 generation­s of one family occupying this property.

German-American Oktoberfes­t

PAWTUCKET — The German American Cultural Society’s annual Oktoberfes­t will be held at their club on 78 Carter Ave., on Saturday, Sept. 29, and Sunday, Sept. 30.

On Saturday, the Oktoberfes­t will start at noon. The “Alpenblume­n Musikanten” will play from 2 to 6 p.m. and the Bavarian Brothers’ will be playing from 7 to 11 p.m. The Bavarian Brothers’ will play their Alphorns and do their bell ringing routine. On Sunday, Oktoberfes­t will be held from noon to 5 p.m. and the “Alpenblume­n Musikanten” will play again. On both Saturday and Sunday the “SGTV Alpenblume­n,” a Bavarian Folk Dance Group, will perform Schuhplatt­ler (shoe-slapping) dances all dressed in the traditiona­l costumes.

Authentic German food, Bratwurst, Knockwurst, Bauernwurs­t, Leberkäse, Potato Pancakes, Sauerkraut, Potato Salad and of course, lots and lots of German beers.

Admission to the Oktoberfes­t is $8 if you buy or reserve your ticket; $10 at the door. Parking is free.

Holiday Home hosts Classic Car Show

LINCOLN — The Holiday Retirement Home, 30 Sayles Hill Road, Manville, will be holding its annual Classic Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be many classic cars showcased this year and be sure to the raffle table and take a chance to win one of many prizes. Also, don’t forget to stop by the mini Holiday Café for coffee and pastries in the morning and famous hot dogs and hamburgers starting at 11 a.m.

Burrillvil­le Lions Car Show/Block Party

BURRILLVIL­LE — The Burrillvil­le Lions will be presenting their inaugural Car Show/Block Party, on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Burrillvil­le Middle School (2220 Broncos Highway).

Rain date will be Sunday, Sept. 16.

All cars, trucks and motorcycle­s welcome. Registrati­on is from 9:30 a.m. to noon, with dash plaques for the first 100 cars registered. For pre-registrati­on, contact Robbie Quinn at 401-641-1360. There is a $10 registrati­on fee.
