WOONSOCKET – Roy and Irene (Carriere) Landry, lifelong residents of Woonsocket, RI, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversar­y Sunday, July 22, at The Village Haven in Forestdale. Mr. and Mrs. Landry were wed May 3, 1958 at Precious Blood Church, where they are parishione­rs. The couple renewed their vows recently during a Mass at Precious Blood Church, celebrated by Rev. Wilfred G. Gregoire. More than 50 relatives and friends gathered to celebrate the 60th Wedding Anniversar­y of Roy and Irene Landry, travelling from as far as Tacoma and Spokane, WA; Lafayette, CO; and Auburn, ME. A slide show highlighti­ng the couple's 60 years together was presented during the luncheon with music provided by their grandson, Adam Landry, and Elizabeth Silvia. Roy was a System Operator for Blackstone Valley electric for over 30 years, retiring in 1995. Irene worked in the Finance Department for the City of Woonsocket for 20 years, retiring in 1997. The couple had 4 children, Karen Berube and her husband Michael of Spokane, WA;

Susan Miceli and her husband Michael of North Attleboro, MA; Sharon Wostal and her husband Stanley of Richmond, RI; Michael Landry and his wife Diane of Woonsocket. Grandchild­ren are Matthew Berube and his wife Brittan of Tacoma, WA; Steven Berube and his wife Lisa of Spokane, WA; Kelly, Audrey and Kody Wostal of Richmond, RI; Billy, Gina and Andrea Miceli of North Attleboro, MA; and Adam and Erin Landry of Woonsocket, RI. There are 3 great grandchild­ren, Tristan, Thomas and Fiona Berube. Roy and Irene cherish time spent with family and take every opportunit­y to bring everyone together for Sunday lunch. Together, they enjoy participat­ing in the local bowling league and playing cards at the Senior Center. In addition, Roy plays softball and quoits, is a choir member at Precious Blood Church and has been a member of the Cercle Laurier since 1962. Irene is an avid reader and there isn't a crossword puzzle she can't solve. She is an active member of Precious Blood parish serving as a Eucharist Minister and member of the Finance Council.
