BVTC awards luncheon at Twin River Oct. 3

LINCOLN – The Blackstone Valley Tourism Council will host its William Blackstone Society inductions and awards luncheon Wednesday, Oct. 3, at the Twin River Events Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Blackstone Valley Tourism Council is proud to honor and recognize the people and places that truly make an impact across the Rhode Island cities & towns in Blackstone Valley.

This year, the theme is “Tourism and the Digital Transforma­tion” which will highlight new marketing initiative­s used to promote Rhode Island as a fun destinatio­n.

Blackstone Valley Tourism Council has partnered with Rhode Island Tourism and will welcome Lara Salamano, chief marketing officer for the State of Rhode Island, as 2018 keynote speaker. She’ll provide an overview of the “Fun-Sized” campaign strategy used to promote tourism in the state.

There will also be a presentati­on from Rhode Island State Tourism’s creative team: RDW and Nail Communicat­ions.

and Morris Nathanson. Blackstone Valley Excellence in Tourism Business: R1 Karting.

Footprints in History: Slatersvil­le Village Green.

Excellence in the Arts: Stadium Theatre.
