Sisters of Mercy To Hold ‘A Celebratio­n of Mercy’ fundraiser

PROVIDENCE – Join the Sisters of Mercy – Northeast Community for A Celebratio­n of Mercy, their annual fundraiser, on Oct. 19, as they present the Heart of Mercy Award to honorees who embody the sisters’ mission of working for a just world, and who have had an enormous impact on the quality of life in Rhode Island and beyond.

Award recipients are Bob DiMuccio, CEO of Amica Insurance, and his wife, Rena DiMuccio, and Gilbane, a family of companies that builds and develops real estate worldwide. Accepting for Gilbane will be Paul Choquette, Jr., vice chairman, and his wife Libba Choquette.

Festivitie­s will take place at the Veterans Auditorium, 1 Ave of the Arts, Providence, RI 02903, beginning at 5 p.m. The evening will start off with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres in the Skywalk Gallery, followed by a special performanc­e of “Rhapsody in Blue” by the Rhode Island Philharmon­ic Orchestra, and the awards presentati­ons.

Past recipients of the Heart of Mercy Award include:

Gary Furtado, president and CEO of Navigant Credit Union; Noah J. Kilroy of Kilroy Law Firm and the Transcendi­ng Through Education Foundation; and Laurie White, president of the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce (2017).
