St. Joseph Seniors, Oct. 23 meeting

The seniors had a special guest in Sen. Roger Picard, who talked with members and joined the group’s turkey dinner.

After dinner President Suzanne Grenier opened the meeting with a prayer for the sick, Gene Arsenault and Denise Chamberlan­d, and for the deceased, Hortense Lanois.

Door prize winners were Dick Guillet, Pauline Belisle, Jim Lemire, Claire Brodeur and Marilyn Beaudette.

Raffle ticket winners were Leatrice Brault, Thea Barnabe, Connie Plotkin, Pauline Belisle and Linda Deguire.

Trips to Foxwoods Resort Casino are planned for Friday Nov. 30 and Dec. 28. A trip leaving from St. Agatha’s Church is scheduled for Nov. 9. There is also a Foxwoods trip leaving from St. Agatha’s Church on Dec. 4, which includes a “Legends In Concert Show” for the holidays.

On Dec. 6, there is a day trip to A Salem Christmas with a four-course luncheon. You’ll see bright lights everywhere especially at the Forest Park gift stores and so much more.

St. Joseph’s Christmas party will be held on Sunday, Nov. 25 at noon at the Village Haven restaurant. Everyone will be served both chicken and pot roast, all-you-can-eat, and there will be different prize giveaways ands the cost is $25 to members and $30 for non-members.

Sunshine lady Barbara DeChristof­oro sent a sympathy card to Michelle McDonald and a get-well card to Denise Chamberlan­d.

The group’s next meeting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13. Any senior is welcome to join our group.
