Pre-Teen Football League champs, trounced the Oakland Beach Eagles, Pee Wee Football League champions, 46-0 in an exhibition game at McCoy Stadium. Kelley tallied on jaunts of 36, 45 and 65 yards, Connors found the end zone on two scampers of 45 yards and an intercepti­on return and Valentine closed out the TD parade with a 25-yard return of an errant Eagles pass. The Braves remain unbeaten, untied and unscored upon in two years. Representi­ng the Braves cheerleadi­ng squad were Marsha Cooper, Marjorie Smith, Karen Cabral, Beverly Fanion, Joan Fanion, Donna Fanion, Kathy Cabral, Norma Roy and Jo Anne Reinsant.

The first snap sailed through the end zone for a safety in the second quarter and the last was downed at West’s 10-yard line with Ron Silva scoring on a seven-yard jaunt with little more than a minute remaining in the tilt. Ranger fullback Dave Chaput, despite an ankle injury, carried the ball 22 times for 117 yards to go over the 1,000 yard mark in the final game of his schoolboy career.

Warner Football League Central Division, has scored 166 points in six games with QB Don Laliberte, Jeff Shabo and Don Neill leading the way. The defense has been equally impressive yielding only seven points for the campaign and is led by Mike Rossi, Mike Brindamour, Jon Reeder, Ken Noiseaux, Paul McCaffery, Andy Baptista, Tom O’Gorman, John Moran, Billy Callahan, Willie Kando and Pete Mathieu. The Crusaders will oppose the Warren Redskins in the first round of the championsh­ip playoffs.
