1966 Tolman’s little speedster Carl Hargreaves gained 162

yards in 17 carries and tallied two touchdowns to pace the Tigers to a 21-0 conquest of Rogers, improving their Class A record to 5-3. Hargreaves scored on a 54-yard jaunt and a 19-yard pass from QB Steve Moreau, Bill (Skip) Histen found the end zone on a 50-yard scamper around end and Jeff White booted three conversion­s to account for Tolman’s points. Tom Thurber, a 6-2, 220-pound tackle, led coach Gig Pariseau’s hard-charging defense playing by far his best game of the season and was in on the majority of the tackles.

1986 QB Stefvan Drezek tossed two touchdowns to Casey

Free, ran for another and score one PAT to pace Cumberland to a 20-0 shutout over East Providence in a Class A-1 tilt at Tucker Field. Drezek completed six of 16 passes for 140 yards, had scoring strikes of eight and 18 yards to Free and wedged over from the one to account for the Clippers TD’s. Defensivel­y, Dave Small intercepte­d an aerial and recovered a fumble, while tackle Bob Allen personally stalled a Townie drive by sacking E. P. sophomore QB John Conaty for a 14-yard loss.

1996 Jovan Smith of Shea and Saint Raphael Academy’s Jason

Brule are tied for The Times area schoolboy scoring race with 100 points apiece, while Jason Baker of Attleboro is the leading ground-gainer with 933 yards on 141 carries. Rounding out the top five scorers are Manny DaSilva of Central Falls with 78 points followed by Baker with 76 and SRA’s Shaun Ramos with 66. Smith is the second leading rusher with 808 yards, DaSilva has 781, Ron Contreras of SRA is fourth with 624 and in fifth place is Renato DePaolis of Bishop Feehan with 566 yards.
