R.I. Philharmonic bands to perform Nov. 30 at EPHS
EAST PROVIDENCE — The Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Wind Ensembles (RIPYWE) and the American Band will perform individually and together during a concert at East Providence High School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30.
The American Band, under the direction of Dr. Brian Cardany, will perform compositions by Roger Cichy, John Philip Sousa and other wind ensemble composers.
The Rhode Island Philharmonic Youth Wind Ensembles program, under the direction of John Knasas Jr. and David Neves, will perform compositions by Roger Cichy, Gustav Holst and other standard wind ensemble composers. The concert concludes with the American Band and both RIPYWE ensembles joining forces for Henry Fillmore’s “The Klaxon.”
Tickets are $10 for adults; $5 for students and senior citizens, and available at the door. Check and cash only. A portion of proceeds will go directly to the East Providence High School Band Program.
The Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School encourages lifelong engagement with music through comprehensive music education, and community partnership programs taught by orchestra members and other outstanding faculty.
