1966 Carl Hargreaves, Tolman’s fleet little halfback, has a

chance to capture the Blackstone Valley schoolboy football triple crown as he leads in scoring with 72 points followed by runner-up Dave Zaborski of Saint Raphael Academy with 37. Dave Chaput of Pawtucket West is the rushing pacesetter with 1,011 yards on 135 carries, but his grid campaign is completed, while Hargreaves, the Seekonk scooter, has two games left and has gained 733 yards in 99 tries. Lastly, Frank Chartier of Lincoln is the top receiver with 18 receptions followed close behind by Hargreaves with 15 passes caught.

1986 Tony Sanders rushed for 120 yards and tallied touch

downs on a 70-yard punt return and a 40-yard return of an intercepti­on to lead the Woodlawn Cowboys to a 26-0 whitewash over the Fairlawn Cardinals to capture the Varsity Division playoff championsh­ip in the R. I. Pre-Teen Football League. QB Tyrone Lindsey completed 12 of 16 passes for 180 yards including a 50yard bomb to Tom Rainey to open the scoring in the first quarter. Chip Long accounted for the other TD on a one-yard run, while defensive standouts for the Cowboys include linebacker­s Jeff Hatch and Sanders and safetyman Rainey.
