1956 Bob Perreault and Bob Kulaga tallied touchdowns as

Saint Raphael Academy blanked Tolman 13-0 before 7,000 fans at a McCoy Stadium field turned into a muddy swamp by Wednesday’s rain in the 28th edition of their Thanksgiving Day rivalry. Perreault tallied on a nine-yard end run in the first quarter and Kulaga on a five-yard smash in the last period as SRA bumped the Tigers out of second place in Class B and now lead the series 14 to 12 with two ties. Defensively for the Saints, 240-pound tackle Doug O’Brien repeatedly crashed into the Tolman backfield to nail runners before they got started, and linebackers Jack Coppolino and Bernie Carty were tremendous in their ability to diagnose the Tiger offense and bring down ball carriers.

1966 Carl Hargreaves rushed for 96 yards on 16 carries and

scored two touchdowns lifting his seasonal total to 102 points, the most since Saint Raphael Academy’s Bobby Perreault tallied 115 in 1956, as Tolman crushed SRA 32-0 before a capacity crowd of 6,000 in the 38th version of their Turkey Day series. Hargreaves tallied on short runs of one and two yards, Bill (Skip) Histen found the end zone on a two-yard dive, end Mike Messier snatched a 13-yard TD pass from QB Steve Moreau and reserve back Teddy North completed the romp with a 50-yard catch and run play as the Tigers now lead the series 18-17-3. Coach Gig Pariseau cited the outstanding defensive contributions made by tackle Tom Thurber, middle guard Ed Kozatek, linebacker Dick Kazarian and halfback Hargreaves who intercepted two of Eddie Hunts’ passes. 1976 A 47-yard scoring strike from QB Jim Pollock to end

Ken Martin in the closing minutes of play gave Tolman a 12-6 come-from-behind victory over Saint Raphael Academy before 5,000 fans at McCoy Stadium to extend the Tigers dominance in the Thanksgiving Day series to 13 games in a row and 28-17-3 overall. Coach Gig Pariseau’s offense was paced by Tim Healey, who picked up 111 yards in 19 carries, and Mike Feeley who gained a total of 102 yards and tallied Tolman’s first TD on a four-yard run. Dave Miller, who replaced starting QB Roland Fournier who injured his ankle on a 20-yard dash to the Tigers’ one-yard line, plunged into the end zone on the next play for SRA’s lone tally.
