Burrillville happenings will get you in the holiday spirit
BURRILLVILLE — The annual Santa event will take place once again at the Stillwater Mill Center. The “Santa at Stillwater” event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8 (blizzard date: Dec. 15) and will kick off with Santa arriving by Harrisville Fire Truck at 1 p.m.
Enjoy holiday music by the Burrillville Middle School Chorus from 1 to 2 p.m. Hot chocolate and donuts donated by Dunkin Donuts of Pascoag (Dan’s Management) will be provided under the Pavilion while you are waiting to see Santa.
Help bring Christmas to the animals at the Burrillville Animal Shelter. Donate pet food, treats and pet products in the drop box under the Pavilion. For a complete list of items accepted contact the Burrillville Animal Shelter at 401-568-9480. Santa will be happy to hear your Christmas wishes and will have a small gift for all who stop by until 3 p.m.
Buy a raffle ticket for a chance to win various raffle baskets. Raffle proceeds benefit the Burrillville Weekend Snack Pack Program.
After chatting with Santa, warm up in the Jesse Smith Library where you can get your face painted in the library café and decorate holiday cookies with Mrs. Claus in the community room. This event is made possible by the collaboration of the Harrisville Fire Department, Jesse Smith Library and the Burrillville Farmer’s Market, along with the Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department. The annual “Santa Calling Program” will be held from Wednesday, Dec. 5 through Sunday, Dec. 9, between 5 and 8 p.m., for children in Grades 2 and under. Registration forms were sent home throughout the Burrillville school system during the week of Nov. 12 and will also be available online at www.
burrillville.org, as well as at the Parks & Recreation office, 92 North Main St., Pascoag. Pre-registration is required by Nov. 30. Santa is anxious to give your child a call.
“Burrillville Holiday Cards” have arrived for purchase. The (5) pack of cards are created from the artwork of Steere Farm & Callahan Elementary School contest winning students and depict (5) different winter scenes in Burrillville. The cards, printed on recycled paper, are available at the Burrillville Parks & Recreation Department, 92 North Main St., Pascoag, the Burrillville Town Clerk’s Office and Li’l General, Harrisville Main Street, Harrisville at a cost of $4 per pack. All proceeds will benefit local families during the Holiday Season.
