1954 Jim Colinan, Bob Bisset and Mickey Cranshaw sparked

Cumberland to its first league triumph by downing Barrington 51-45 in a Class C encounter. Colinan fired in a game-high 19 points, Bisset netted 11 and Cranshaw 10. The Clippers, ahead 42-35 in the final stanza, played possession basketball the rest of the way forcing the Eagles to press, thus letting Colinan and Cranshaw break loose for easy layups to ice the victory.

1964 Don Autry, Westerly’s bespectacled little sniper, calmly

The Saints had five players in double digits led by Ray Rainville with 15 points followed by Bob Brooks (13), Tom Albright (11), Bobby Shannahan (11) and Benny MacTavish (10). There was no wild finish in the jayvee tilt, which saw Ronnie Hoyt pump in 33 points to give SRA a 70-53 victory.

1974 Russ Standring hit on 11 of 22 shots from the floor and

wound up with a game-high 25 points to pace Central Falls to its fifth win in six Suburban Division III tries by downing Davies Vocational 79-68. Bob Matuszek poured in 21 points, Marc Sawyer hooped 14 and Tom Tinkham chipped in with 10 for the Warriors. Steve Barry fired in 20 points, Bob Brown and Arthur Monteiro caged 15 apiece and Steve Roderick added 12 for the winless Patriots.
