1964 Co-captains Mike Cabral and Billy Donnelly once again
represented just about Pawtucket Vocational’s entire attack, but it went for naught as Our Lady of Providence cashed in on 35 of 44 free throw opportunities and crushed the Hawks 85-55 in a Class C encounter. Cabral and Donnelly combined for 37 points with Cabral notching 19 and Donnelly 18. Coach Cappy Asermely’s Vokes suffered their fourth setback in five league games and dropped to 3-8 overall.
1984 In a battle of Class B Central Division winless, Central
Falls romped to a 54-32 win over outmanned Bishop Keough as April Peckham scored 13 points and Claudia Tabares added 10, while Rita Uriati gunned in a game-high 16 points and Neisa Lawrence chipped in with 11 for Keough. In other division action, Brenda Lewis streaked for 21 points to pace Shea to a 58-44 triumph over R. I. School for the Deaf. Melissa Talbot, the 5-foot10 sophomore, caged 13 points, collected 10 rebounds and often triggered the Raiders’ fast breaks with solid outlet passes, according to coach John Kazarian.

Cathy Lanni, Shea outscored Johnston 34-16 en route to a 61-49 win in a non-league contest that improved the Raiders overall record to 11-3. Melanie McIlmail captured game-high laurels with 21 points and Kelly Smith and Kerri Leigh chipped in with 12 apiece for Shea.
