LINCOLN – The Lincoln Public Library announces the following upcoming family programs.

Lego Club at the Library

Kids ages 3 and older can join the maker movement every other Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. at the Lincoln Public Library. The Children’s Program room will be open on Feb. 2 and 16 for kids who love to build, so come in and make what you like. Just bring your imaginatio­n and the library will supply the Legos. Saturday Crafts

Young crafters ages 4 and older are invited to the Lincoln Public Library to create winter-themed crafts every other Saturday at 11 a.m. Work on a special Valentine’s Day project on Feb. 9. Then on Feb. 23, kids can paint a snowy tree using bubble wrap and create snowflakes with coffee filters. Come in from the cold and get creative at the library. Online registrati­on is required. Jr. Book Club Celebrates RI Children’s Book Award Nominees

Attention third through sixth graders: Have you read any of the books nominated for the 2018 Rhode Island Children’s Book Award (RICBA)? Come join the book club to read, share, and participat­e in RICBA book-related activities. Each year, 20 titles are nominated for this prestigiou­s award. Kids in grades 3 through 6 who read at least three of the nominated books get to vote for their favorite. This year, the Lincoln Public Library is focusing on RICBA nominees for its Junior Book Club. Members explore these great titles and choose one of them to read each month. Kids then share by posting book reviews to a blog. Other activities have included creating word clouds and online avatars of favorite characters. Technologi­cal devices and instructio­n will be provided for all projects. Art Club for Kids Meets Feb. 6

Feeling creative? Sign up monthly to make art projects to take home and to decorate the library. Kids ages 8 and older can join the next gathering on Feb. 6 at 6 p.m. to make a suncatcher using paint, waxed paper and bottle caps. All supplies will be provided, and space is limited.
