1968 Mike Reeder, held to a foul shot in the first half, turned it

on after intermissi­on with seven baskets and a free throw to pace Blackstone Valley Electric to a 76-57 win over Corning Glass in the opening game of the Industrial Basketball League playoffs at the PBC gym. Newman Carr paced BVE with 19 points, Reeder finished with 16 and Cliff Noiseux netted 13. In the second tilt, Bob Thibodeau and Bob Cornell led the Rowe Aces to an 82-61 victory over the Coaches with 20 and 19 points, respective­ly.

combined for 45 points as Central Falls hammered Lincoln 54-39 to improve to 12-1 in Class B-North action. DeFaria copped game-high laurels with 17 points, Rattray netted 15 and Corrigan chipped in with 13, while Becky Provost was the Lions’ big gun with 14 points. “After the loss to Ponaganset­t, our goal was to go undefeated until the next time we played them. We’ve done that and now we have another chance at Ponaganset­t on our home court. It’s a chance to tie for the league title and our girls are ready,’ stated Warrior coach Caz Malec.

points as Tolman held onto a thrilling 60-58 Division 2-North victory over archrival Shea. Brendella Brown added 11 points and Nicole Paquin caged eight for the Tigers. Senior Morgan Briden drilled 16 points and snared 13 rebounds for coach Kristen Manzi whose Raiders had at least three opportunit­ies to score with 20 seconds left, but missed bucket attempts each time.
