1968 Bill Tutt and Jack Wilson combined for 41 points to

lead coach Bernie Pina’s Saint Raphael Academy quintet to an 86-67 romp over Pawtucket West in a non-league affair. Tutt torched the twines for 21 points and Wilson followed with 20. Sophomore Dennis Piche paced the Rangers with 14 points, Ted McDonald canned 13, Dave Frade collected 11 and Bruce Clarke added 10 points and 15 rebounds for coach Bill Rutledge. 1988 Coach Don Choquette had six different players find the

net as his Cumberland sextet gave an impressive 6-2 thumping of Tolman to avenge an earlier 3-2 overtime loss to the Tigers. Clipper goals were tallied by Todd Carey, Chris Simmons, Mike Murray, Pat Darcy, Chris Correia and Dave Mooney, while goalie Brad Conner turned away 17 shots on goal. Don Twohig and Mike Cooper scored for Tolman with Mike Nichols registerin­g 20 saves. Cumberland and the Tigers are deadlocked in second place with identical 14-5 Met-B Two records.

1998 Feisty North Smithfield utilized a stellar man-to-man

defense to manufactur­e an 18-2 end-of-game flurry and stunned division-leading Central Falls with a 52-43 comeback victory to pull into a first-place Division 2-North tie with CF. Senior forward Amanda Rouette was immense in all facets, finishing with a game-high 26 points and 14 rebounds and Jessica Cagnan closed with 11 points for Northmen coach Sean Reddy. Sophomore guard Lyndita Liburd hustled to 21 points, Karen Nordan, who was not feeling well throughout the tilt, added a gritty 10 points, Amanda Ryfa pulled down a team-high 12 boards and Raisa Gonzalez chipped in with 11 rebounds for Warrior coach Kathy Luther. .
