1968 Sacred Heart’s Jim Malloney, a 6-foot-3 senior, captured

the Blackstone Valley schoolboy scoring crown with 447 points in 21 games for a 21.3 average. Rounding out the top five scorers are Bob Passano of Cumberland (17.9 ppg), Tolman’s Tom Pearcey (17.5), Don Bishop of Lincoln (13.1) and in fifth place with a 12.8 average is Pawtucket West’s Dave Frade. Bob Pelletier of Central Falls was the only sophomore to crack the top 20 in the scoring parade with an 11.8 mark.

1988 Goalie Pat Riccio made 20 saves for his first shutout of

the season as Lincoln handed Met B-One Large leader Burrillville their first league loss with a stunning 2-0 win over the Broncos. Rich Lim and Todd Landry scored for the Lions in the last 1:53 of the first period, with Brian Fiske assisting on each goal. “This was our best game of the season. We hustled, we forechecked – we were in the right place at the right time and the puck went in the net,” said Lincoln mentor Ross Brooks.

1998 Lori Poirier broke the school record for three-pointers in

a game, but it was in a losing cause as Cumberland fell to Woonsocket 55-50 in Division 1-North action. Poirier sank five treys to set a new school mark and finished with a game-high 21 points. The Villa Novans were led by Shandel Abney’s 19 points while Keyshawn Ruff swished 17 for the victors.
