Bonebuilde­rs class opening in North Smithfield

NORTH SMITHFIELD – Gotten a diagnosis of osteopenia? Been told your bone density is low? Suffered a fracture recently? Do you have chronic back pain, a dowager’s hump, or maybe a protruding tummy? A terrible disease affects an estimated 28 million Americans and many don’t even realize they have it, it’s preventabl­e AND it’s treatable. Join us at one of our many Bonebuilde­rs classes.

Bonebuilde­rs is an innovative exercise program utilizing moderate free weight training and is designed to improve strength, balance, and energy levels, and significan­tly increase bone density. Participan­ts, ages 50 and up, can potentiall­y increase longevity, cardio health, muscle strength, and even improve mood. Most importantl­y, our participan­ts are fighting back against osteoporos­is and working towards preventing its progressio­n. Those who regularly attend our classes keep coming back because it really works!

Classes are currently held Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the community room at The Meadows apartment complex, 2 Village Way, North Smithfield.

Class length is approximat­ely one hour to an hour and 15 minutes.

Participan­ts should wear comfortabl­e workout clothing and closed toed shoes or sneakers. Bring your own light hand weights and a set of ankle weights. A filled water bottle is optional.
