1968 Top scoring honors went to Paul Brule with 23 points, but

it was not enough as St. Mathieu’s bowed 50-43 as St. Mary’s, led byThe individual exploits of Tolman’s Don LaBranche and Barry McCoy of Pawtucket West were once again prominent as both swimmers were double winners with LaBranche setting two records and McCoy one. LaBranche shattered pool records held by former Tiger standout, Peter Czekanski, with Don clocking 2:01.6 in the 200-yard freestyle and 4:32.4 in the 400 freestyle. McCoy cracked a five-year-old mark for the 100 freestyle at Park View where he touched home in 52.1 and also captured the 50 freestyle in 24.2.

1988 Central Falls has its own version of the Three Amigos in

the trio of Claudia DeFaria, Brenda Rattray and Amy Corrigan who led the Warriors to an impressive 57-46 Class B-North win over North Providence. Rattray fired in a game-high 28 points and pulled down 21 rebounds, DeFaria added 12 points and Corrigan tallied nine points with several nice assists. “Amy Corrigan’s superb passing led to numerous baskets by Brenda Rattray. Amy has really come into her own as one of the premier point guards in the league,’ said CF coach Caz Malec.

1998 Senior point guard Barrett Whitecross held high-scoring

Davies forward Rohan Russell to just nine points and came up with a clutch steal in the final seconds as Lincoln shocked the first-place Patriots 48-46 in a Division 2-North thriller. Tyler Sliney poured in a team-high 19 points and Justin Strothoff caged 11, including three treys for Lions coach Mike Sullivan. Akbar Abdullah garnered game-high laurels firing in 26 points with Ed Ciotti adding 11 in a losing effort. Lincoln improved to 13-5 in league play, while Davies dropped to 16-3.
