1968 Ken Adam, leading scorer for the La Salle Academy

freshmen, torched the twines for 31 points as undefeated Holy Trinity (11-0) clinched the regular season pennant in the Cadet Division of the Blackstone Valley Basketball League by edging St. Mary’s 66-63 in its final game. In other action, Ron LaFlamme pumped in 31 points to pace St. Mathieu’s to a 74-60 victory over St. Teresa’s. Wayne Perry caged 27 points and Bill Mulholland chipped in with 12 in a losing effort.

1988 Pawtucket’s Kevin Kolek, former Saint Raphael Acad

emy star, was named co-player of the year in the Little East Conference. In addition, Kevin was selected to the Northeast District One Division Three All-New England first team. Kolek averaged 21 points per game this season in leading the Southeaste­rn Massachuse­tts University’s Corsaires to a top 10 ranking nationally in Division III.

1998 Robert “Oubie” Griffin fired in a game-high 30 points,

grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out six assists and had three steals as Saint Raphael Academy edged city-rival Tolman 65-61 before a noisy, packed house at the SRA gym. T. J. Sorrentine was the only other Saint in double figures with 10 points, while the downtrodde­n Tigers had three players in double digits with Joe DeBlois and Maurice Toro notching 14 points and Peter Wolejko adding 13. SRA coach Tom Sorrentine’s quintet improved to 15-2 in Division 1-North play, while Tolman coach Paul Rabbitt’s squad dropped to 8-9 in league action.
