LINCOLN – If you are thinking about putting down a legal bet on your favorite team in the NCAA basketball tournament, the Twin River casino just made that process a little easier.

Just in time for the first round of games in the annual March Madness tournament on Friday, Twin River turned on its new sports betting ki- osk terminals around its Lincoln casino and also at Twin River’s Tiverton property.

In all, 17 of the new electronic sports betting terminals have been installed on the first and second floor of the Lincoln casino, and five more at Tiverton, according to Patti Doyle, Twin River’s spokeswoman.

“It’s just another convenience for our guests to place

their bets for sports betting,” Doyle said.

The kiosks complement the two staffed sports betting counters already in operation in Lincoln in the simulcast room on the third floor and the Sports Book Bar & Grill on the second floor, and the

staffed counter at Tiverton, according to Doyle.

The automated kiosks take cash for bets and provide access to the same listing of potential bets on professional sports teams and college basketball available from the staffed counters.

The kiosks went online as Twin River was enjoying increased traffic in its casinos on Friday. “We had a busy day because of March Madness,” Doyle said.

Craig Sculos, vice president and general manager for Twin River Casino Hotel in Lincoln, said the new kiosks should reduce the wait time for those customers wishing to place sports bets.

“Consistent with the phased approach we have taken to sports betting here in Rhode Island, we are pleased to expand this amenity to now include a self-service option for wagering on sports,” Sculos said.

“The kiosks are in addition to the recent opening of our popular Sports Book Bar & Grill in Lincoln on the second floor, and the 17 staffed terminals at the combined properties.”

The kiosks were added with the assistance IGT, Twin River’s information technology partner, its sports betting partner, William Hill Associates, and the Rhode Island Division of Lotteries, according to Sculos.

“We continue to refine and enhance our sports betting product to help ensure a positive guest experience,” he added.

Sculos also announced that Twin River Casino Hotel and Tiverton Casino Hotel will have expanded sports betting hours at game floor terminals and the Sports Book Bar & Grill in Lincoln to accommodate the likely increase of bettors for NCAA March Madness.

The expanded hours are: Saturday, March 23, from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.

The Twin River Casino Hotel in Lincoln also offers over 4,100 slot machines, 119 table games including poker, simulcasting, as well as dining and entertainment and an Event Center hosting concerts, sports events and related functions. For more information visit www.twinriver.com.
