1966 John Cullinan allowed six hits, struck out 11 and

cracked two of the seven hits off Frank Bertoncini as the Tigers scored a 6-4 win over the Colts to even their best-ofthree final series playoffs in the Pee Wee B Division the Pawtucket Boys’ Club-Recreation Department Baseball Leagues. In “C” action, Ken Brown singled John Karbowski home with the winning run as the Secret Agents swept their series by shading the Mustangs 2-1. In “A” play, Dave Britto’s circuit clout in the first inning tallied the only run of the tilt and Paul Fontaine tossed a three-hitter and whiffed 11 as the Ants evened their series by nipping the Nine Aces 1-0.

1986 Singles by Dan Dolan and Rich Landi plus Joel Line

berger’s double accounted for the winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Pawtucket Players clinched a Rhody Amateur Baseball League playoff berth by edging Reddy’s Riggers 5-4 at Dunnell Park. Mike Robin scattered five hits, did not allow an earned run, walked three and fanned nine for the complete game victory. Dolan, Landi and Mike Horne chipped in with one RBI apiece for the locals.

tington’s two-out double drove him home with the winning run in the last of the eighth inning as Allens Avenue Towing captured a thrilling 9-8 decision over the Providence Sultans in the rubber game of the Ocean State Amateur Baseball League championsh­ip series held at Cranston Stadium. It was the third consecutiv­e league crown for Allens Avenue which had to overcome a 6-0 deficit. Rizzo and Tony DiSalvo cracked three hits apiece while Partington and Paul Swanson each chipped in with two safeties for the champs.
