Kennedy Manor Social Club happenings

WOONSOCKET — The most recent Kennedy Manor Social Club meeting was held on Tuesday, Sept. 3. President Pauline Clancy opened the meeting with prayers and the Pledge of Allegiance. Secretary’s report was read and accepted by Stella Lacasse and Roger Ouelette. Treasurer’s report was read by Linda Smith and it was accepted by Helen Bonnar and Debra Ducharme.

Sunshine report for August had get-well cards sent to Muriel Payette, James Sisson, Madeleine Lacroix, Ron Bernier, Andre Ledoux, Marge Derosier, Debra Ducharme, Robert Beauchemin and Terry Reynolds; sympathy card sent to the family of Hector Vargas; other get-well cards sent in July were to Lorette Frappier, Robin Badeau and Terry Reynolds; sympathy sent to Marcel Brunelle; and thank-you cards received from Andre Ledoux, Debra Ducharme and Ron Godfrin.

The Board of Tenant Affairs report read by David Wolfe, stated that the speaker was Elizabeth Kerrigan, director of parks and recreation. President Cindy Johnston is looking for members to fill vacancies for three offices.

The group’s next meeting will be Thursday, Sept. 19, at 7 p.m. at Kennedy Manor.

President Clancy reminded the assembly about the weekend auction and mini-bazaar, to include Grandma’s attic, jewelry sale, gift basket raffle, money tree, $300 gift card wheel, split-the-pot and playing card raffle. Lunch will be available.

Other upcoming activities include Ice Cream Social on Tuesday, Sept. 10; Medicaid/Medicare Presentati­on on Oct. 22 and 30. On Oct. 26, the social club will hold a Halloween Party with a meatloaf dinner by Micky G’s and entertainm­ent by J.A.G.G.’s entertainm­ent.

Birthdays for August were Marie Darveau, Annette Wolfe, Lynn Ouelette, Ray Gentille, Connie Seider, Stella Lacasse and Helen Lamoureux; for September, they are Jeanne Levreault, Laura Welch, Virginia Barro, John Liard, Caroline McMahon, Diane Powell, Rita Charpentie­r, Barbara Aubin and Alana Parks.

Split-the-pot winners were Roger Carpentier, Roger Ouelette, William Riendeau, Alice Groleau, Nadine Cudjo, Sandra Davis, Linda Smith and Pat LaRose.
