October: Festival month at Mendon Senior Center

The Friends of Mendon Elders invite you to join them as they present the exciting raffle baskets made for them by the various groups that enjoy using the Mendon Senior Center throughout the year.

The first place the baskets will be presented is outside of the Center, will be on Wednesday, Oct. 9, at the Fire Department Open House. Say hello to Mendon firefighters, examine the fire trucks, and share in the free food as well as take a chance at the lovely and exciting raffle baskets being presented by the Friends of Mendon Elders .

Your second opportunity to buy your chances for your favorite raffle baskets will be on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Lions Club Fair, located in the field behind the Blessing Barn in Mendon. Enjoy the many elements of the fair; put your chances in the raffle cans of your basket choices, and view/ buy the special Christmas and hand crafted items we will have for sale at the fair.

The final ‘festival’ is the Friends of Mendon Elders Oktoberfest at the Mendon Senior Center Friday, Oct. 25, from 3 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 26, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is where you can purchase your final raffle chances before the drawing; find those hard-to-find Christmas items; the special puzzles for both adults and children; that piece of jewelry just right as a gift for that special person and that wonderfully warm afghan just made to keep you warm either indoors or out. At the end of this Oktoberfest the winning names for all baskets will be drawn and the baskets will be gone for another year. In between these special ‘festivals’ the baskets will be on display at the Mendon Senior Center where you can purchase additional raffle tickets.
