• Autumnfest Grand Marshal Gala honoring 2019 Grand Marshal Lisa Carcifero, Savini's Pomodoro Italian Kitchen & Bar, 476 Rathbun St., from 6 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person or $45 per couple, and sponsor tables of 10 are available for $500. • The American-French Genealogical Society will present a series of workshops at the Franco-American Heritage Center, 78 Earle St., on Saturdays at 1:30 p.m. The programs are presented free of charge through a grant from the LeFoyer Endowment Fund. Each workshop will cover topics that will help individuals who wish to research their family history. Seating is limited, so pre-registration is required. Reservations may be made online through the AFGS website at www.afgs.org, Today's workshop is Finding the Pieces of Your AcadianPuzzle, by Rob Gumlaw. Rob will cover the unique challenges of Acadian genealogy research. What are the holes to fill? What is available? • CumberCon, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Cumberland Public Library, 1464 Diamond Hill Road, is an annual fandom festival hosted by the library to bring together members from the community to share their pop culture interests. The event is a building-wide experience that is free and open to anyone who would like to attend. Presentations, panels, and activities are available to provide fun, shared experiences for attendees of all ages. Vendors are on hand with wares, and selfie stations related to various fandoms will also be at the festival. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite cosplay or costume.
