• OPEN HOUSE AT SAINT RAPHAEL ACADEMY: Prospectiv­e students and their families are invited to an Open House, from noon to 3 p.m. Registrati­on will be in Alumni Hall, located at 194 Walcott St. Families of students who are interested in entering as freshmen in the fall 2020 and current high school students who are interested in transferri­ng will take a student-led tour of the campus, meet with faculty, and discover the variety of sports and extra-curricular activities the Academy has to offer. Students may also register for the free Catholic High School Entrance Exam Prep Class that will be held at Saint Raphael Academy on Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019. Seating for this class is limited. • The American-French Genealogic­al Society will present a series of workshops at the Franco-American Heritage Center, 78 Earle St., at 1:30 p.m. The programs are presented free of charge through a grant from the LeFoyer Endowment Fund. Each workshop will cover topics that will help individual­s who wish to research their family history. Seating is limited, so pre-registrati­on is required. Reservatio­ns may be made online through the AFGS website at www.afgs.org, Today's workshop is The Mill Villages of the Blackstone River Valley by U.S. Park Ranger Mark Mello. Mark will detail the various mill villages in the Valley, their production, and which immigrants worked in the mills.
