1970 Phil Lachance rolled games of 148, 178 and 162

for a record high three of 488 to lead the Monday Night House League at Darlington Duckpin Lanes. Other leaders were Bill Gammons 431, Jack Thornhill 416, Don Gomes 415, Charlie Marques 412, George Gregory 408, Bob Bouchard 407, Bill Cowdell Sr. 386, Lou Rushton 385, Steve Mullen 384, Les Prevost 384, Frank Reilly 382, Cliff Laushway 382, Roland Lanoue 381, Norm Boutin 379, George Gagnon 378, Bud Witcher 378, Don Chesbrough 376, Roger St. Vincent 376 and Jim Wyllie 376.

1980 Jerry Holder, Saint Raphael Academy halfback,

played the best game of his three-year schoolboy career, rolling up 228 yards on offense and scoring three touchdowns as the Saints romped past Lincoln 38-7 to remain undefeated (5-0) in Division BB action. Holder tallied on TD runs that covered 47, 19 and 17 yards Shane Allen added a seven-yard run and Mickey Burns hauled in a 30-yard pass from QB Tom Crum to account for the SRA touchdowns. The Lions got on the board late in the final period when QB Steve Lantini hit Phil Oakley for a 21-yard aerial TD.

1990 Erin Blanchette scored two goals and assisted on

another two as Lincoln broke open a close game with a four-goal second half rally and downed Smithfield 5-0 in a Northern Division girls’ field hockey game. Stephanie Hindley, Val Faria and Stacy Bukic all tallied one goal apiece. Goalie Michelle Burgoyne was called on to make just two saves, while Tammy DeRobbio, Liz Halloran, Holly Harrington and Nikki Bell anchored the strong Lion defense. The victory sets up a rematch against Lincoln’s only conqueror this campaign when the Lions, now 9-1-2, visit undefeated Lincoln School, 12-0-0.
