St. Agatha Seniors, Oct. 23 meeting

President Gerard Robidoux opened the meeting with a prayer for Lucile McDonald and Lucille Lavoie.

Sunshine Lady Constance Bonin sent a get-well card to Lucille Lavoie. A thank-you card was received from Lucienne Croteau.

Celebrating birthdays were Leda Parent, Alice L’Heureux, Judith Crones, Constance Gentili, Linda Deguire and Rita Blais.

Introduced as a new member was Thippawan Pulaski. Welcomed back after a long absence was Celia Gregroire. Jocelyn Joyal and Estelle Legare, forming the nominating committee, announced that every officer was to remain in office except for the First Vice President, namely Martha Cote. Secretary Fran Roy cast the vote for Patricia Palardy to take that position. The officers for the year 2020 will be President, Gerard Robidoux; First VP, Patricia Palardy; 2nd VP, Lucille Galipeau; Secretary, Fran Roy and Treasurer, Frances Furnell. The members of the board will be Marguerite Deragon, Roger Roy and Jeanne Theroux.

Door prize winners were Linda Deguire, Leo Robidoux, Gloria Belknap and Cecile Beleville. Winners of the raffle were Linda Deguire, Marguerite Deragon, Barbara Decristoforo and Yoshi Loya.

There will be no meeting this week because of the annual Parish Christmas Bazaar on Nov. 2 and 3. The group’s next meeting will be on Nov. 6, and this will be the last time to buy a ticket for the Nov. 13 dinner. Turkey will be served. Treasurer Frances Furnell announced that she will start collecting for the 2020 members dues at the Nov. 6 meeting.

The president announced that a free meal will be available for all veterans at the Woonsocket Senior Center on Nov. 8. Doors open at 4 p.m. and an opening ceremony will be held at 4:30, followed by the dinner. Guest tickets are available at $6 each. Call 766-3734 for reservations by Nov. 1.

Winners of the special BINGO games were Linda Deguire, Fran Roy and Patricia Palardy. Constance Seider was the caller.

Pitch winners were Roland Roy, Donna Bourgeois, Robert Laplante, Martha Cote and Normand Piette. Coffee and pastries were served by Marguerite Deragon, Fran Roy, Denise Chamberlin and Jocelyn Joyal.
