Blessings of God are on their way to you

-

Islipped a little pink note across the white-marbled look table. “Take this,” I said to a dear friend of mine, “and every time you are discouraged, unfold the paper and look at the words.”

It was about seven years ago, and for many months, my friend was down and depressed. She had spent years in a relationship that just didn’t turn out well. Then, not of her own making, she lost her long-time management job and her entire savings was gone. She felt rejected, pushed to the side, her self-esteem running low. And now, in an emotional moment, she felt as though her dreams were all falling apart.

I remember the afternoon that my friend and I met at a downtown café. And when she opened up the note, her eyes skimmed across the paper, her vision then blurred by tears. For the note read, “The blessings of God are on their way to you.”

“You have cried enough,” I declared, concerned, a lump rose in my throat. “Come out of this slump… what happened in the past is over and done,” I uttered. “Everything that you are looking for is possible.”

After that, I said, “There are so many more opportunities in your future. God has blessings for you, but you’ll never get them if you just sit around discouragingly on the sideline.”

There was a short silence.

“I know,” my friend said, and I saw a hint of joy and understanding in her eyes. And so, I whispered, “Keep being and doing your very best. Have faith, and the time will come where, instead of you continually running after your dreams, God’s best for your life will come running after you.”

Are you facing a difficult road with an uncertain destination?

Do you feel as though everything around you is crumbling?

When difficulties fall on us, our first reaction tends to be to throw in the towel. However, don’t allow the grasp of discouragement to get its hold on you. Regardless of what you are going through now, never lose your fighting spirit. Legendary football coach, Vince Lombardi once said, “It’s not whether you get knocked down; it’s whether you get back up.”

You might have been through a number of disappointments. Perhaps, everything you have attempted to do has gone wrong. Otherwise, maybe a situation just did not turn out as you had hoped. But don’t withdraw in despair, living beneath your capabilities, and just ‘settling’ for less than leading the very best quality of life you desire and deserve. What happens when a newly-built house ‘settles?’ A short time ago, I asked a home engineer that question, and he described to me that, “The doors can get out of square; they don’t close properly, you may get cracks in the wall and things get out of alignment.” In the same way, when we ‘settle’ for less than God’s best for us, our life can get ‘out of alignment.’

Now is the time to rise and shine. No matter where you might be today, get a fresh perspective and imagine what you ‘can be,’ what you ‘can do.’ There is a new path ahead for you with more love, more joy, and more successes. A reader wrote via email, “We have a Creator who has redeemed our lives and that includes our lost dreams, ideas, desires, and hopes.”

Therefore, never quit. You have immeasurable potential, so set your eyes on what you really want, and map out a plan on how you are going to get there. Then, step by step, with confident expectation, even when your situation seems stagnant, keep reaching and working toward your heart’s desires. Right now, God is arranging circumstances on your behalf.

One holiday weekend, I recall how my family and I went to a local parade. Sitting on a blanket on the side of the street, we watched the high school marching band and our awesome men and women in uniform, passing in front of us.

Often, the way we view life, is like watching a parade. At that given moment, we can only see what is passing in front of us. Yet, God knows and sees all at once, the beginning, the middle, and the end. He moves in ways that we cannot understand. And He works in situations when we are unaware, all with a predetermined time to set into motion a wonderful sequence of events.

So keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking, for this could be the day that God puts you in the mind of someone who will offer you a fantastic opportunity. This could be the day the storm will pass and the tide will turn. This could be the day your condition will improve. This could be the day that the right person will be brought into your life.

“The Lord is faithful; He will strengthen you and guard you!” (2 Thessalonians 3:3).

The note that I gave my friend is slowly fading and bent from time. Although, those words of encouragement still have an impact on her life, she says. Today, my friend marvels at the great course her life took. She’s happily married with a darling child, they live in a new townhouse, and she enjoys a purposeful career.

The blessings of God are coming your way. Believe it… accept it as true…and receive all victories that God has for your future.
