Gig Pariseau’s defensive unit as Tolman continued its relentless quest for the Class A Metropolitan Division crown by blanking defending Class A champion Mount Pleasant 12-0 at McCoy Stadium. Sophomore halfback Carl Hargeaves got the Tigers off and winging with a 64-yard punt return for a touchdown in the first period, while QB Larry Caswell and halfback Bob Moniz hooked up for their sixth TD pass of the campaign on an 18-yard second quarter scoring strike. Swift Alan Theofilis picked up 72 yards in 11 carries to pace Tolman’s ground attack.

1974 John Ribeiro’s three goals lifted Pawtucket West to

a 5-0 romp over Tolman in a Suburban East Division soccer game with the Rangers improving to 9-4-2 and the Tigers falling to a 0-15-0 mark. Jose Rocha and Luciano Xavier tallied the other goals for the Westerners. In other division action, Joe Bento’s unassisted game-winner with one minute to play gave Davies Vocational a 4-3 edge over Woonsocket.
