• “Wag and Read – Reading With a Therapy Dog” at the Blackstone Library is a popular program in which children ages five and up can read to a specially trained and certified therapy dog. Reading aloud to an animal helps build confidence and is great for those struggling with dyslexia, speech problems, fear of dogs and much more. Our team of lovable dogs includes three different breeds. Each child may reserve one 15-minute time slot per month. Reading sessions take place on Monday evenings and registrati­on is required. •Holy Trinity Parish (formerly Our Lady Queen of Martyrs), 1409 Park Ave., will hold its annual holiday bazaar and craft fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Monignor Gadoury School (Norm Malo Hall), 1371 Park Ave. Vendors offer baked goods and fudge. Gift certificat­e raffle, split the pot, themed baskets and special drawings. A real Santa for photo-ops with children. Kitchen is open for continenta­l breakfast and a dynamite-sandwich lunch. The event was organized by the Holy Name Society and Outreach Ministries.

• The Woonsocket Health and Rehabilita­tion Center, 262 Poplar St., will hold its

•Saint Paul's Parish Blackstone will hold its 37th annual Turkey Trot in St. Paul's Church Hall. Admission is free. Doors and kitchen open at 5 p.m. and raffle begins at 6 p.m. Over 100 valuable gifts in addition to turkeys will be raffled off. Delicious food will be available throughout the evening. A special bake table offering homemade baked goods will be available as well. A Penny Social will be held with a large variety of items.

• The St. James Episcopal Church’s annual Holiday Bazaar will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 24 Hamlet Ave. There will be items for Christmas, Thanksgivi­ng, all-year-long, door prizes, baked goods, candy, crafts, jewelry, books, White Elephant, children’s table, silent auctions, free door prize drawings, Scandinavi­an products, soup and bread, meatball sandwiches, dynamites and other refreshmen­ts. This is a church-sponsored and run fundraiser. Proceeds of the bazaar benefit the mission of St. James Episcopal Church. This will be their typical, traditiona­l, annual event held in the parish hall, with the addition of a Vendor Fair with several independen­t vendors in the atrium. •The 13th annual Smithfield Holiday Bazaar will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hebert Health & Rehabilita­tion, 180 Log Road, Smithfield. This annual, old-fashioned event, will again feature a cornucopia of hand-made goods and wares, many crafted especially for the holiday season and gift giving. Among the many offerings will be handcrafte­d knit-goods, jewelry, seasonal wreaths and holiday gift baskets. Fresh, home-baked pies, breads, cakes and pastries will also be featured, along with White Elephant tables filled with interestin­g and vintage gift ideas and bargains for the home, family, children and pets.
