1971 Cumberland senior grapplers Mike Kelly, Paul Kuzde

ba and Bob McDermott and sophomore Joe Boulay will compete for the Suburban East Division squad against Suburban Division West in an all-star wrestling meet. Kelly, a 155-pounder, is undefeated in seven league matches with six pins and one win by decision, while McDermott, at 167, posted two victories in his weight class and two in the 185-pound division before being injured in a meet. Kuzdeba has gained five victories and two draws in the 138-pound class, and Boulay is undefeated with seven straight wins in the 98-pound division.

1981 Coach Frank Geiselman’s undefeated Cumberland

girls’ basketball team notched its eighth straight Class A win and 18th overall with a 67-29 rout over winless and flounderin­g Tolman. Anne Tweedie hooped a team-high 13 points, reserve Lisa Cutting netted 12 points and grabbed five steals, Debbie Pereira caged 11 points and Lori Palagi had six steals and four assists for the Clippers. Beth Boisse captured game-high honors with 15 points for the Tigers (0-8).

1991 Coach Ray Brown’s Saint Raphael Academy Express

rolled over another victim as Central Falls fell by a 65-46 count with the Saints improving to 7-1 in Class B-North play and 14-1 overall. Sandy Spremulli torched the twines for 25 points and Kerri Bucko added 11 for SRA, while Linda Moran had 11 points and freshman point guard Erin Corrigan chipped in with 10 for the Warriors (4-4, 6-8 overall). Brown had high praise for Allie Weygand who had eight points, six rebounds, four steals and held CF’s Moran to seven points in the first three quarters.
