Autumnfest offering scholarship

WOONSOCKET — The Autumnfest Steering Committee is dedicated to making our community a place where each person and each event makes someone proud to live here. Through volunteers, the Autumnfest Steering Committee holds many community events with the largest one being on Columbus Day Weekend (Oct. 10-12, 2020). These community events are run by volunteers. People who want to make a difference by giving back to their community.

This year, the Autumnfest Steering Committee is proud to offer our first $500 scholarship to one graduating senior from Woonsocket High School or Woonsocket Area Career and Technical Center or Mount Saint Charles Academy or Beacon Charter High School for the Arts who display the love and passion for the community by the volunteer work they are involved in with the community. We ask that you tell us, in 500 words or less, how you embody similar qualities and include specific details on how you have volunteered to make a difference in your community and in the lives of those around you. Be sure to include any community involvement and/or civic activities.

Autumnfest General Chairman Garrett Mancieri says, “We are thrilled to offer this opportunity to one scholar who chooses to better their community through volunteerism. Autumnfest has a long standing tradition of community spirit and pride for over four decades and chose to begin this scholarship program this year as a way to give back, promote our community, and encourage youth participation to make our society a better place.” Send in your completed scholarship application and essay to Autumnfest Secretary, Kristi Keith (secretary@autumnfest.org) or by mail to Autumnfest, P.O.
