BACK IN BUSINESS
Local favorites Wright’s Farm, Ye Olde English serving diners
Shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic, two Rhode Island dining institutions – Wright’s Farm in Burrillville and Ye Olde English Fish & Chips in Woonsocket – have reopened with new take-out and curbside pickup options.
Ye Olde English Fish & Chips, one of Woonsocket’s most iconic restaurants, closed in early April citing concern for the safety of employees and its workers. The 90-year-old restaurant, known for authentic English-style fish and chips, reopened at 25 South Main St. a few weeks ago for take-out and is now offering limited outdoor dining.
“We will continue to provide to our loyal customers,” the restaurant said on its website.
Hours of operation will be limited to four days a week Wednesday-Saturday from 11 a.m to 7 p.m. for take-out and curbside. Customers are asked to call ahead for both curbside and takeout.
“Lines may be busy and we are trying our very best to take all call in orders. We thank you for supporting us during this time and we will keep you updated with any changes to come,” the restaurant said.

Wright’s Farm in Harrisville, known for its all-you-can-eat chicken dinners, reopened this past Thursday after having been closed since March 28. The restaurant, in business for the past 50 years, is offering online and phone-in ordering for take-out and curbside pickup Thursday and Friday from 4 to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m.
Wright’s reopening on Thursday was challenging, but successful, the restaurant said.
“Tonight was our first operational night since March and we had triple the amount of orders that we normally would’ve had for inside dining, resulting in long waits and delays for many,” the restaurant said on Facebook Friday. “We apologize for any inconveniences. Our
team is working to adMust to this µnew normal’ as we increase our ability to receive and deliver take-out orders.”
Take out orders include a pint of shell macaroni, with Wright’s homemade marinara sauce, a pint of fresh salad with house dressing, French fries, and two rolls. +alf and full-size party pans will also be available and serve eight to people.
Guests are asked to enMoy any food they order from the restaurant off-premise. Eating on the grounds or parking in the lot is prohibited.
