• The Museum of Work & Culture, a division of the Rhode Island Historical Society, is currently closed to the public, but offers virtual tours on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. Tickets for the virtual tours can be purchased by visiting rihs.org.

Blackstone Valley/State
• Family Service of Rhode Island, a statewide nonprofit human service organization, has launched “Be Safe Plus,” a program delivering fresh foods, masks, cleaning and personal care supplies to Rhode Island seniors, people with disabilities and their caregivers who are at high-risk for COVID-19. FSRI recruited Chubby Chickpea and “Hope & Main,” located in Warren, and Roch’s Fresh Food, of West Greenwich, to put Rhode Islanders back to work by employing them to pack and deliver “Be Safe Plus” boxes. Seniors can access Be Safe Plus by calling 401462-4444/The Point for assistance in English and Spanish.
• Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park will once again offer its annual winter lecture series discussing the Blackstone Valley’s role as an incubator for revolutionary thought
and action. This six-part series, hosted via Zoom, will cover a variety of topics, including labor reform, ethnic religion and politics, the cotton economy and architecture. Presentations begin on Saturday afternoons at 2 p.m. and lectures will be offered on Jan. 23, Feb. 20, March 6, March 20 and April 3. These lectures are free and open to the public. Providence
The Industrious Spirit Company will be hosting a Community Supported Cocktail Program. Each week, the mixologist team will create cocktails out of local produce. a $20 subscription gets you two cocktails each Saturday, with no contact pickups on the patio any time between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. (you can also choose to linger safely on the patio to enjoy the drinks). This is the perfect way to support a madefrom-scratch distillery and local agriculture. Free pickups begin Jan. 9. ISC has also started its winter hours, so they will be open on Fridays from 2 to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
Cumberland
Storytime (on Zoom) is back at the Cumberland Public Library! Beginning Jan. 12, join the library Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday mornings at 10:30 a.m., and Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. on Zoom to enjoy great stories, songs and rhymes with the Children’s Staff! Pawtucket
The Empowerment Factory, in collaboration with the Rhode Island Department of Education, is offering free elementary youth art classes, from January through May. Each participating child will receive a creativity kit to accompany online, live classes taught by The Empowerment Team. These fun, free classes combine art, science, and social emotional learning. Starting Jan. 5, all Rhode Island elementary students are eligible to register for up to 2 sessions. Space is limited. Families are encouraged to visit www.empowermentfactory.org/free-art-adventures and sign up for an alert to be notified via email when registration opens. Registration is limited and begins Jan. 5.

Patriot Place is hosting a Festival of Trees Holiday Stroll, through Jan. 9. Guests will enjoy festive holiday trees displayed throughout the North Marketplace. Each tree will be decorated by a different Patriot Place venue, and highlight that venue’s favorite charity during the season of giving. As guests enjoy this festive and safe holiday experience, they will be able to safely vote for their favorite tree via contactless QR codes stationed at each display. The tree receiving the most votes will earn a $1,000 donation to the winning tree’s designated charity, courtesy of Patriot Place. Participating venues include Bar Louie, Bed Bath & Beyond, Capriotti’s, CBS Sporting Club, Citizen Crust, Dunkin’, European Wax Center, Patriot Place management offices, Pure Barre, Scorpion Bar, Showcase Cinemas de Lux, Six String, Mass General for Children – Foxborough / Spaulding Outpatient Center for Children Foxborough, Splitsville, vineyard vines and Wormtown Brewery. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at URI announces its registration for its spring semester of online classes for adults age 50 and up. Enjoy a variety of classes simply for the joy of learning, no tests, no grades. The subjects are endless, ranging from current events, humanities, history and government, and recreation and wellness. Consider taking a class on the US Constitution, the New 7 Wonders of the World, Arts and Genetics, or a class in learning Italian. In addition, OLLI members can also participate in special interest groups, such as the Foreign Policy Discussions, the monthly book club, writers’ group and photography group.
