1963 Jumpin’ Jimmy McNaught increased his scoring lead among Blackstone Valley schoolboys with 227 points in nine games for an average of 25.2 points per game. Rounding out the top seven point-getters are Dick Rouleau of Sacred Heart Academy (19.6), Tolman’s Tom Smile (19.1), Joe Dupras, the other half of the Beavers’ one-two punch (17.5), Tolman’s Don Suggs (16.2), the tallest of the area schoolboys at 6-foot-6, Billy St. Angelo of Pawtucket Vocational (15.3) and in seventh place with an 11.8 mark is St. Angelo’s teammate Bill Donnelly.

1973 Central Falls derailed an undefeated opponent for the second straight game and moved into a deadlock for second place in the Suburban Division III pennant race with a convincing 72-52 triumph over Smithfield in the small confines of the Warriors’ home court. CF had four players denting double digits led by Tom Tinkham’s game-high 23 points, Russ Standring canned 18, Ken Knapp hooped 14 and Ron Menard added 11. The win was the fourth straight in division play improving the locals’ record to 5-1, the same as Smithfield.

1983 Chris Belasco scored his first two goals of the season, with linemate Jim Rose earning his first two assists on those scores, to pace Shea to a 4-2 decision over Classical for its third straight Suburban Division victory. Jeff Cordeiro and Dave Ricci completed the scoring for the Raiders, while senior goaltender Bob Harrop registered a 17-save performanc­e. In Metro Division B action, Tim Murray, John Simmons and Daryl Chelo tallied goals as Cumberland chalked up its fifth consecutiv­e division win defeating Smithfield 3-1 at Adelard Arena.
