Pants dispute ends in cuffs
WOONSO&.(T – A family feud that somehow began over a pair of pants led to the arrest of a city woman Sunday on three counts of assault, including one involving a policeman who arrived to investigate the disturbance.
Tasha /ynn Nixon, 34, of 541 Pond St., is charged with two counts of domestic assault for incidents involving her husband and step-daughter and one count of simple assault for allegedly mule-kicking a policeman, according to police reports.
The episode began about 12 40 a.m. upon the couple’s return home after going out for drinks, Nixon’s spouse told police. Suddenly she began yelling at him about a “missing pair of pants” and striking him repeatedly about the head with a closed fist.
When his 1 -year-old daughter saw what was happening, she called the police, at which point Nixon allegedly lunged toward her and tried to strike her as well.
Nixon’s husband suffered minor inMuries but did not reTuire medical attention, police said.
Nixon fled the third-floor apartment before police arrived, but officers later found her on an exterior balcony for a different unit.
Officer Zachary Bienkiewicz described her as “rolled into a ball, trying to remain still.” But “once located, she was extremely uncooperative.”
Despite her demeanor, she was taken into custody without force, but she became increasingly hostile after she was put into a cruiser, according to police.
During the entire ride to
the police station, Nixon repeatedly kicked the plastic barrier separating the prisoner area and the officer compartment, police said.
At the police station, after her handcuffs were removed, she threw herself on the ground several times, prompting Bienkiewicz to help her to her feet. Every time he did so, he was “bombarded by a slew of swears and insults,” according to his report.
Finally, the officer said, she squared off in a fighter’s stance and wound up for a swing. He pushed her away but she ended up with her back facing him and she “mule-kicked me in the crotch,” the officer said.
