Join us for a roughly 4 mile loop hike, where we’ll start from the Heritage Park Trailhead and follow a wide rolling path up to and through Steere Hill, the highest point of the Steere Hill Conservati­on Area property. This is considered a moderate hike and will take roughly 2 hours. On this wide and quiet trail, you’ll feel like you’re far away from all the troubles of the world. • Lincoln Public Library, 145 Old River Road, will be holding a virtual event with the Rhode Island DEM Division of Fish & Wildlife outreach program on Wednesday, January 12th at 6:30 PM. During this event we’ll learn all about these three species of semi-aquatic mammals that call Rhode Island home! What do they eat, where can you find them, how do they survive the long winter months? These questions and more will be answered during this virtual Zoom program. All ages are welcome to attend this FREE program, but registrati­on is required to receive a Zoom link. • Skyscraper­s Inc on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 7 PM will hold a Zoom talk on “The EXoplanet Climate Infrared TElescope (EXCITE)” with Tim Rehm, PhD Candidate in Physics at Brown University. This talk will be focused on the developmen­t and science behind the Exoplanet Climate Infrared Telescope (EXCITE). Despite almost 5000 confirmed exoplanet detections, very little is known about their atmosphere­s. This includes molecular compositio­n, thermal structure and dynamics.

•Almost, Maine – a real romantic comedy, will be performed at the Stadium Theatre from January 13th to January 16th! Welcome to Almost, Maine, a place that’s so far north, it’s almost not in the United States. It’s almost in Canada. And it’s not quite a town, because its residents never got around to getting organized. So it almost doesn’t exist. One cold, clear, winter night, as the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, the residents of Almost, Maine, find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and hilarious ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream. Almost, Maine will be performed on Thursday, January 13th at 7:30 PM, Friday January 14th at 7:30 PM, and Sunday January 16th at 2 PM.
